Anna-Lena

Anna-Lena Rüland joined the Graduate School of International Studies at Université Laval as Assistant Professor in science diplomacy in October 2025. She holds a PhD in political science and government from Leiden University and completed her postdoctoral studies at the University College London Global Business School for Health. In her research, Anna-Lena focuses on science diplomacy, international research collaboration, North-South research cooperation, and research security. Her research has appeared in outlets like Globalizations, Global Policy, Scientometrics, and Technology in Society. Anna-Lena is associate editor at The Hague Journal of Diplomacy and holds visiting appointments at the Leiden University Institute of Advanced Computer Science and the University College London Global Business School for Health.
