TAPIO

Jenni Tapio works as an External Relations Officer at the Directorate of Strategy, Legal, and External Affairs at the European Space Agency (ESA) in Paris. Before joining ESA, Ms. Tapio was the Chief Specialist and Head of the Space Office at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland.

In this role, she held the position of Secretary General of the Finnish Space Committee. Ms. Tapio represented Finland at the United Nations Committee of Peaceful Uses of Outer Space COPUOS as the head of the delegation to its Subcommittees, and in 2021, she was elected as the First Vice-Chair for the Main Committee. She also served as a Council delegate and Vice-chair of the International Relations Committee at ESA, additionally leading the Finnish delegation in the European Union Space Programme Committee.

Jenni Tapio brings 15 years of private sector experience to her work, having worked at Airbus Space and Defence, Nokia, and Bird & Bird Attorneys. She holds degrees in law with specializations in space law, public international law, business law, and EU law.
