Sascha
QUANZ

Sascha Quanz is an astrophysicist, principal investigator, and head of the Exoplanets & Habitability Research Group in the Department of Physics at ETH Zurich.

He is also an Associated Member of the ETH Albert Einstein School of Public Policy. After earning his PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Heidelberg, he spent two years as a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company before returning to academia.

Today, his research team focuses on the implementation of the LIFE Space Mission—a mission designed to inspire and unite humankind through the search for life beyond our Solar System. Sascha believes that space exploration is more than a scientific endeavor; it is also a cultural and emotional journey that empowers generations to think bigger, collaborate across boundaries, and imagine bold futures for the benefit of all.
