Jean-François van Boxmeer became Chair of Vodafone Group Plc on 3 November 2020 having been appointed as a non-executive member of the board at the conclusion of the 2020 AGM Board Committees - Vodafone Nominations and Governance Committee - ESG Committee.

Jean-François van Boxmeer was appointed as the Chair Designate for the Unilever Ice Cream business, The Magnum Ice Cream Company in February 2025. Jean-François van Boxmeer was the Chief Executive of Heineken for 15 years, having been with the company for 36 years.

Jean-François held several senior roles in Africa and Europe before joining Heineken’s Executive Board in 2001 with worldwide responsibility for supply chain and technical services, as well as regional responsibility for the operating businesses in North-West Europe, Central and Eastern Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. He is Chairman of the European Roundtable for Industry (ERT), which he joined initially in 2005 and to which he had been serving as its Vice-Chairman from 2016 to mid-2020 and as Chairman from May 2022.
