Eva Ortega-Paíno, PhD in Chemistry from the Complutense University of Madrid, specialized in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, has extensive experience in oncology immunology, as well as in the management of innovation projects and biobanks. She served as Scientific Director of the CNIO Biobank, promoting its consolidation as a dynamic platform for responsible research through the management and custody of human biological samples and their associated data. In 2021, she was appointed Coordinator of the Biobanks area within the National Platform of Biobanks and Biomodels, National Node Director for Spain in the European infrastructure BBMRI-ERIC, and Management Director of the National Network of Brain Metastasis (RENACER). She is also a member of the Science, Technology, and Innovation Advisory Council (CACTI) of the Ministry of Science and Innovation, which promotes participation from the scientific and technological community. Since December 2023, she has served as Secretary General for Research at the same ministry.
