KONARZEWSKI
President of the Polish Academy of Sciences
Marek Konarzewski is a Polish biologist, science popularizer, professor of biological sciences, researcher at the University of Bialystok, PAS correspondent member as well as PAS president since 2023. He is a Professor at the Department of Evolutionary and Physiological Ecology, Faculty of Biology, BU, and at the Faculty of Artes Liberales, WU. His main research interests are physiological ecology, in particular identification of genetic and environmental drivers of variation in the energy balance of animals.
From 2008 to 2013 he served as a Minister-Counselor for S&T at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington DC. In 2017-21 he served as a S&T Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
