Christian Joas is a historian of physics. He is the Director of the Niels Bohr Archive and an Associate Professor in the Department of Science Education at the University of Copenhagen. After a PhD in physics from FU Berlin, he switched to the history of science, conducting research at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin and at LMU Munich. His research focuses on the history of twentieth-century physics, particularly the genesis and applications of quantum mechanics, as well as the transfer of knowledge between different branches of physics and between physics and other disciplines.
