Dr. Oksana Illnar-Vusyk is a physicist at the University of Vienna and co-founder of the Ukrainian Science Diaspora in Austria. She specializes in computational soft-matter physics and pairs active research with senior academic leadership. As Vice-Rector for Innovation at the National Aviation University and Vice-Head at the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance (Secretariat, Ukraine), she led reforms in digitalization and academic quality that strengthened the operational resilience of Ukrainian higher education during wartime.

Currently, Dr. Illnar-Vusyk accelerates Ukraine’s integration into the European Union by building sustainable cross-border networks among scientists, students, and policymakers and by supporting displaced scholars. She works to translate Ukraine’s practical experience in institutional resilience into meaningful partnerships with European institutions, reinforcing the stability and crisis-readiness of the European Research Area and ensuring it remains robust and capable of responding to emerging challenges.
