Francesca Tolve is a director-level officer and Head of Sector for Science Diplomacy and International Cooperation within International Relations at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR). Her work includes developing the Institution’s strategy for international scientific cooperation, as well as conducting research and providing training in the field. Having participated as a partner in several EU-funded international cooperation projects, she remains actively engaged in ongoing European and international collaboration initiatives. Previously, Francesca served as a National Expert in Professional Training at the European External Action Service (EEAS), and later as a Seconded National Expert at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation in Brussels. She has also been a delegate of the CNR to the Western Balkans Joint Science Conference within the Berlin Process. Francesca directed the CNR International Relations Office in Naples and represented the CNR in several ministerial commissions for international scientific cooperation. She holds a PhD in Geopolitics and Geostrategy from the University of Trieste. An invited speaker and chairperson at international conferences and advanced training schools, she is the author of publications in science diplomacy and international cooperation.
