Helen Eenmaa, LLM, JSD (Yale Law School), is an Estonian legal philosopher and technology law scholar. Her research encompasses legal and moral philosophy, private law theory, law and economics, and technology law, with particular emphasis on the governance challenges posed by highly automated systems. She is an Associate Professor of Governance and Legal Policy at the University of Tartu and the former President of the Young Academies Science Advice Structure (YASAS) — a formal network bringing together all European Young Academies, including those of Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, as well as the YAE, GYA, and MCAA. Dr. Eenmaa has served as an expert and Board Member of SAPEA, the consortium of European academies providing scientific advice to the European Commission. She has also worked as a lawyer at the European Parliament and the United Nations Security Council.
