Angelique Pouponneau, a Seychellois lawyer and ocean advocate, is currently serving as the Lead Ocean Negotiator on behalf of the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS). With an LLM in Environmental Law from Queen Mary University of London and a recently completed PhD on enabling legal environments for sustainable ocean economies, she brings both academic rigour and practical experience to ocean governance and climate action. She formerly served as the CEO of the Seychelles Conservation and Climate Adaptation Trust and Chief of Staff to the UN Secretary-General's Climate Action Team.
