Mette Birkedal Bruun PhD, dr.theol. is Professor of Church History at the University of Copenhagen, director of the Danish National Research Foundation Centre for Privacy Studies and Vice Chair of the Danish Council for Research and Innovation Policy (DFIR). She is member of the board of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters and member of the Academy work group Science in Society. In the Centre for Privacy Studies she directs an interdisciplinary research team dedicated to research into historical notions of privacy and to exploring how historical research can be a resource for contemporary debates. Bruun is founding editor of the interdisciplinary research journal Privacy Studies Journal. In DFIR she has headed the project on interdisciplinarity in research and innovation and contributed to the projects Universities for the Future and Innovative SMEs - Rich and Resilient Societies Have smart Businesses.
