Professor Zakri Abdul Hamid is the Founding Director of the International Institute of Science Diplomacy & Sustainability at UCSI University (UCSI-IISDS) and the Joint-Chairman of the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT). He is a former director of the Institute of Advanced Studies at the United Nations University in Tokyo, former member of the Scientific Advisory Board to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, former science adviser to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, and the founding chair of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). Zakri is a senior fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia, former vice-president of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), and founding fellow of the International Science Council. He is also a founding member of the International Network of Government Science Advice (INGSA).
