Éric TALLON is a French career diplomat. He graduated from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences-Po) and holds a postgraduate diploma in Geopolitics from the Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and École normale supérieure (ENS-ULM). He served as Advisor for European Affairs to the President of the Republic (2007-2012). He was Counsellor for Cultural Affairs in Rome and Director of Institut français d'Italie (2012-2016). He served as Special Advisor to the Director General for Globalization, Culture, Education and International Development of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (2016-2018). He studied at École nationale d'administration (ENA) in 2018. Back to the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, he was Desk Officer (for Libya, Iran and North Korea) at the Department of Political Affairs within the United Nations and International Organizations Directorate (2019-2021). Since September 2021, he is the Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Action of the French Embassy in Spain and Director-General of Institut français d'Espagne.
