Octavi Quintana is a medical doctor, specialized in Intensive Medicine from the University of Columbia. He was Director of the Málaga Hospital, Deputy Director of INSALUD, and served as the President of the European Council Bioethics Committee Director. He was vice-president to the EC Ethics European Group and Director of International Affairs of the Spanish Health Ministry and worked as a coordinator for humanitarian aid in Rwanda, Burundi, Bosnia, and Kosovo. He directed scientific divulgation programs in TVE2 and became Director of Scientific Research in the EC in Health, Energy, European Research. Since 2017, he is the Director of PRIMA Foundation, a programme which is responsible for applying innovative, effective, efficient, and sustainable solutions to supply water and food in the Mediterranean.
