Stéphanie Balme is a Research Professor and Academic Freedom Officer at Sciences Po. She is currently a research affiliate with the International Science Council (ISC) and will serve as the future Director of Sciences Po's Center for International Studies (CERI). She previously held the position of Dean of the University College. With an international academic career spanning 13 years in China, she also generated experience as a diplomat in scientific and university cooperation. Her teaching and research focus lies on several areas, including China's scientific rise, EU-China-US relations, and science diplomacy. Her work predominantly centers on tech diplomacy, international governance of science, and the role of humanities in science diplomacy.
